1. Celebrate the Presence of God

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near.”- Philippians 4:4-5

a. What are ways that you can celebrate the presence of God?

b. Spend one minute in silence thinking back on the times where you have sensed God’s goodness, provision, and presence. Write these memories down so you can come back to them in seasons where God feels distant or hard to sense. Share one of these memories with your group.

2. Ask for what you need from God

“Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”- Philippians 4:6

a. What are your biggest needs right now? Take time to bring them to God in prayer with your group right now.
b. We can take our biggest requests to God because He is greater than anything. Ephesians 3:20 tells us that God is “able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think.” What are your biggest requests that you hesitate to bring to God because they seem impossible? Take time in prayer to bring them to God in prayer with your group right now.

3. Leave your anxious concerns with God

“Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”- Philippians 4:6-7

a. What is making you most anxious right now? What is bringing you the most fear? Take time to bring that to God in prayer with your group right now.

4. Meditate on truth from God

“Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable — if there is any moral excellence and if there is anything praiseworthy — dwell on these things. 9 Do what you have learned and received and heard from me, and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.”- Philippians 4:8-9

a. What truths in Scripture are most encouraging to you? What truths about God beckon you most to worship? Spend one minute meditating on those truths and share them with your group. End your time by being assured that the same great God in all of the truths from your reflections “rejoices to do good to His people” and He loves you “with all of [his] heart and soul” (Jeremiah 32:41).
