Title: A Jesus Community (Part 3)
Scripture: Luke 6:46-49
Speaker: Reid Kapple, ReidK@ChristCommunityKC.org

>> Fitting Jesus into our lives keeps Jesus out of our lives.
>> Do we know what our lives are built upon?
>> Apply the ABCs to your life (Accounts, Bodies, Calendars)
>> Have we dug down deep enough?
“The same Jesus that is willingly your savior correspondingly demands to be your Lord. The same Jesus that is resident in your life must also be president of your life.” - Charlie Dates
“Augustine deconstructs our false dichotomies of freedom and constraint, because he has a radically different conception of freedom that we have forgotten in modernity. Freedom not as permission but as power...Such freedom doesn’t expand with the abolishing of boundaries or the evisceration of constraints...Like the rails of a roller coaster that let you do loop after loop. It’s the grace that guards your being.” - James KA Smith, On the Road with Saint Augustine
>> Pray and obey the words of Jesus in your life
>> Will our foundation endure the storm?
“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on...But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense...The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of...You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.” - C.S. Lewis
