Games We Play
Part Two - Sorry
2 Corinthians 7:10
For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.
If you say you’re sorry but continue to do the same things you say you’re sorry for - you are just playing games.
Healing requires that we be truly sorry.
Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
“Produce fruit that is consistent with repentance!”
Attempts to worship without true sorrow is just playing games.
So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.
With the tongue we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God’s likeness. 10 Out of the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, this should not be!
