WHY A RELATIONSHIP SERIES?

In the beginning...when God created the world...even in the way he created humans he was establishing an order of priority. Before Adam had Eve He had God.
GOD MUST BE YOUR FIRST PRIORITY
Genesis 2:15-20 ESV
God PUT Adam in the garden. He placed him somewhere...he was settled somewhere.
- Get settled. Be comfortable where God has placed you. Until you’re
settled you can’t handle a relationship.
God gave Adam PURPOSE when he gave him a job. To work and keep the garden. He wasn’t sitting around waiting for a woman to come.
- Wasn’t complaining about being alone.
GOD GIVES YOU PURPOSE BEFORE A PERSON
- Your purpose isn’t found in your spouse, God has a purpose for you
before your spouse.
God made eve to be a HELPER not a COMPLETER.
• The real problem is you’re lonely...and you’re looking for something to
solve that.
• Getting married won’t solve your loneliness problem.You can feel alone
in singleness or marriage
Your identity is not found in your spouse or any person. It’s found in God.

GOD BROUGHT EVE TO ADAM
When you know your purpose, your place and priorities you attract the right kind of person.
• 3 levels of attraction - Spiritual, Emotional, Physical
• Should be in that order - We start backward.
• Whatever you catch them with you will have to keep them with

• If they don’t have a real healthy relationship with God, it’s going to be hard to have a real healthy relationship with you.
God gave Adam provision with boundaries.

YOUR SPOUSE MUST BE YOUR FIRST PRIORITY ON THIS EARTH
When our priorities are out of order our spouse gets jealous and God gets jealous. Not jealous OF you...jealous FOR you.
When you join to your spouse you must LEAVE several things. Or change several things.
1. Your lifestyle changes
2. Your friendships change
3. Your familial priorities change
When your priorities are right...God is your first priority. Your spouse is your second.
Healthy love for a spouse comes from a healthy relationship with God.
Your marriage has a 100% chance of success if you do it God’s way.
