Part Two - The Children’s Bread
Part of the daily bread God provides is healing for our bodies.
The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said. 26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” 28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.”And her daughter was healed at that moment.
1 Peter 2:24
He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.
Things to Know About the Children’s Bread
1. It is God’s will for us to be healed.
While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell facedown and begged Him, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” 13 Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him.
3 John 2
Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.
2. God’s will has always been healing.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse.
3. Beyond healing, God wants to keep us in health.
If you worship me, the LORD your God, I will bless you with food and water and take away all your sicknesses.
No evil will befall you and no plague will come near your dwelling.
4. We need to work toward this objective.
1 Corinthians 6:13
Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God?
‑ Exercise and eat properly.
‑ Get plenty of rest.
‑ Eliminate smoking and alcohol from your life.
‑ Take advantage of medicines and doctor’s care.
‑ Claim God’s promises.
2 Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of God are yes in him, and in him Amen, by us for the glory of God.
He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death.
If healing is the children’s bread, then the church is the bakery we turn to in order to secure our portion.
Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick.
