When Moses was born, his people were slaves in Egypt. Egyptian officials had ordered all Hebrew baby boys to be killed but, because of his parent’s faith, Moses was miraculously spared, and Pharaoh’s daughter raised Moses. It’s easy to focus on temporary benefits like wealth and popularity but, by faith, Moses kept his eyes on the long term benefits of God’s Kingdom. Faith helps us look beyond the world’s values to what is eternal.
The life of Moses was a _______________________.
Hebrews 10:32
Hebrews 12:1

Endurance literally means to “hyper-stay” or to “hyper-_____________.”
In our fast-paced culture, is it possible to have faith that keeps on enduring?
What was the key to Moses’ life of faith?
1. What faith says ‘no’ to (Hebrews 11:24-26)

(v. 24) “he refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter” ________________________

(v. 25) “he refused the pleasures of sin”
(v. 26) “he refused the treasures of Egypt.” __________________
What does this mean to you today?
Matthew 4:19
Are you willing to leave if God calls you?
Luke 9:23
There are now crown-bearers in heaven who were not cross-bearers here below.” -C. H. Spurgeon
“I would like to buy about $3 worth of gospel, please.”
-D.A. Carson, “Basics for Believers”
To be a follower of Jesus means ____________________________.
2. What faith says ‘yes’ to:

(v. 25) “choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God.”

(v. 26) “bear reproach”

(v. 27) “not fearing the king’s anger”
the first characteristic of a Christian mind is a supernatural _________________________.

Faith gives you the courage to obey God even when others might be _______________________.
3. What faith reasons . . .

Living by faith is not living ______________________.

He considered = he ________________________________.

Faith is the confidence in God’s Word, regardless of consequences and circumstances, that results in _________________________________.
Daily Meditations
Memory verse: “By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.” Hebrews 11:27
Monday
Read Hebrews 11:23-29. What do we know about Moses’ parents?

From what is said about them, what would you say are the most important things Christian parents can do for their children?
Tuesday
Read Hebrews 11:23-29. It could be said that Moses chose the more difficult road instead of a life of ease. Why would you say he did this?

What clues does verse 26 provide to answer the above question?
Wednesday
Read Hebrews 11:23-29. Everyone has their own challenges – some much more difficult than others. How does faith help us endure those difficulties?

Moses’ faith was continually tested. How has your faith been tested recently?

What has been your response? What would you like your response to be?
Thursday
Read Hebrews 11:23-29. How does the world try to intimidate you to not follow God’s ways?

What is the Christian/biblical response? Has that helped you? How?
Friday
Read Hebrews 11:23-29. What does it mean to think Christianly? (From Harry Blamires book, “The Christian Mind”)

What is the #1 characteristic of a Christian mind? (It was mentioned in the sermon, but you can Google Blamires and his book and find it on-line.)
Saturday
Read Hebrews 11:23-29. Also read James 2:19. What is the difference between belief and faith?

What are you doing that requires faith?
