Choose Your Environment Review:
» Our Environment is determined for us and eventually by us.
» Our best choice is to dedicate our space to God.
» Our most dangerous deviation is the one nearest our present position.
» Abram deviation was costly (integrity, time, and companionship). He lost a LOT… literally.
Week 5:
"Choose Your Environment Pt. 3”
When it comes to human behavior… don't equate God's patience with His acceptance.
What brings about a civilizations collapse?
1. Increase in lawlessness
2. Loss of economic discipline
3. Rising bureaucracy
4. Decline in education
5. Weakening of cultural foundations
6. Loss of respect for traditions
7. Increase in materialism
8. Rise in immorality
9. Decay of religious belief
10. Devaluing of human life
—When Nations Die (Jim Nelson)
Things get worse when godly people grow silent.
Rescued people rescue people. (That was Abraham's story.)
The story of Sodom's destruction is confirmed by Jesus (Luke 17:28-32) and articulated by Peter (2 Pet. 2:4-9)
“I’ve always said that I don’t respect people who don’t proselytize. I don’t respect that at all. If you believe that there’s a heaven and a hell, and people could be going to hell or not getting eternal life, and you think that it’s not really worth telling them this because it would make it socially awkward—and atheists who think people shouldn’t proselytize and who say just leave me along and keep your religion to yourself—how much do you have to hate somebody to not proselytize? How much do you have to hate somebody to believe everlasting life is possible and not tell them that? I mean, if I believed, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that a truck was coming at you, and you didn’t believe that truck was bearing down on you, there is a certain point where I tackle you. And this is more important than that.”
