There’s this false mentality that more will be what satisfies us. We end just becoming more selfish and more empty.
A worldview that is all about you is a small worldview. A life of significance...comes from when we live to be generous.

Winston Churchill - We make a living by what we get but a life by what we give.Albert Einstein - The value of a man resides in what he gives and not in what he is capable of receiving
Mother Teresa - A life not lived for others is not a life at all.

Neuroscience has demonstrated that giving is a powerful pathway for creating more personal joy and improving overall health. The “happiness trifecta” of dopamine serotonin, and oxytocin are released in your brain that give you these euphoric feelings of’s proven that they are released all at the same time when you give. Reduces stress and anxiety as well.
They took joy in giving...even when they didn’t have it to give. They were begging to give. Generosity has nothing to do with how much you’s a position of the heart.

Jesus said in Acts 20 - “It is more blessed to give than to receive”

It’s what the more is for - to be a blessing to others!
Generosity is giving without an expectation of a return.
If we give to get, it works selfishness into our lives and we actually quit giving when we don’t get a return with this mindset.
The generous are motivated by the love for God and for others. It’s evidence that we love others...when we are generous toward them.

The bible talks a lot about these eternal rewards...treasures in the next life if you will. Don’t lay up treasure where moth and rust destroy...but lay up treasure in heaven

Generosity isn’t a means of salvation rather a result of salvation. What you do after salvation...determines what rewards you have in heaven.

What we do for ourselves dies with us, but what we do for others lives beyond us.

Generous with time - serving here in the church, serving your neighbor, serving outside church
Generous with abilities - Your gifts.
Generous with words - encourage, speak life, generous with written words also. Text or letter
Generous with affection - You don’t know the power of a hug saying I’m here for you. Generous with resources - This is more than just money...or writing a’s being generous with all of your resources.
If you want to be satisfied in this life...begin to be generous as if you’re living for the next.
- That’s being generous in Jesus’s conveying his generosity to others.

The true key to happiness and joy is in giving not getting. The pursuit of happiness is the pursuit of a life of generosity.
