Week 22:
"Can't Keep the God-Man Down" [Resurrection]
(John 20)

"Without the belief in the resurrection the Christian faith could not have come into being. The disciples would have remained crushed and defeated men."
—William Lane Craig (Apologist)
Predictors -=VS=- Prophets
Predictors forecast based upon observation, experience, and scientific reason (They are often wrong)
Prophets foretell based upon first hand information from God Almighty (They are always right)

Jesus foretold His own death and resurrection.
(See Matthew 16:21-23, 17:9 & 22-23, 20:17-19, & 26:31-32)
Jesus' Claim of Deity:
• He claimed equality with God (John 5:17-18)
• He claimed He deserved honor as God (John 5:23-24)
• He accepted worship as God, as opposed to others (John 9:35-39, Acts 10:25-26)
• His enemies understood His claims (Mark 14:61-64)
Did eyewitnesses believe Jesus was physically dead?
• His executioners did (John 19:33-34)
• His secret followers did (John 19:38-42)
• His closest friends did (John 20:1-10)

Infallible proofs = an expression indicating the strongest type of legal evidence

"The Resurrection entered intimately into the life of the earliest Christians; the fact of it appears on their tombs, and in the drawings found on the walls of the catacombs; it entered deeply into Christian hymnology; it became one of the most vital themes of the greatest apologists writings of the first four centuries."
—Wilber Smith (Bible Professor)
We will ALL come face to face with Jesus... the only question is how.

Will you be standing BEFORE or IN Jesus Christ on Judgment Day?
