Feeding Homeless Families
We work with IHN (Interfaith Hospitality Network) in Monroe four times a year by hosting a dinner and an overnight stay for homeless families. We also provide lunch supplies for the week like fresh fruit, chips and packaged desserts so they can pack a lunch to take with them to work, school, or the Day Center. Any donations would be greatly appreciated, and should be brought to the church by Sunday, August 4. A sign up sheet is at the fireplace.

SHP - Save The Date August 10
Join us on Saturday, August 10 for a rewarding day of building bunk beds for kids who don’t have a bed. Bring your kids, your friends, coworkers, and/or neighbors. This is a great opportunity for everyone to pitch in and make a difference in the lives of families in our community.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace will coordinate with our church for a build day on Saturday, August 10 from 8:00am-12:00pm. Teams of volunteers will help deliver beds while others will be building beds. Each bed will include the frame, pillows, sheets, and comforters. We need builders (age 12 and older), babysitters, and a hospitality team to help make our build day event fun and memorable. Builders only need to bring work gloves. Everything else will be provided, including childcare for children under 12 years old. If you would like to help, you can sign up online at https://hittheriver.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/253808.

Donations for SHP Bunk Bed Build
Each set of bunk beds we build for the SHP project costs $350. Please consider making a donation to the SHP project so we can give a restful sleep to as many kids as possible in Butler County. Donations can be made to The River Church online designating it for SHP at https://hittheriver.churchcenter.com/giving/to/shp-project

Backpack Blessing
On Sunday, August 11 during both services our RiverBank Kids volunteers will be praying for all of our students in RiverBank Kids. Be sure to bring your kiddos backpacks next Sunday!

Worship Night
Join us for a night of connecting with God through worship on Friday, August 16 at 7:00pm. This will be a great time to connect with God and one another before the kids and teens head back to school. Child care is available for children age 1 to 5 years old.

River Youth Back To School Night
On Sunday, August 25 The River Youth will be having our annual Back to School Night from 5:30pm-8:00pm. We are adding more time because we will be doing something new this year that we believe will set students up for an amazing year in their relationship with Christ. Students always look forward to this night and we believe this year will be just as impactful. Please make sure your student joins us that night.

Opportunities to Serve In RiverBank Kids
We are in need of individuals to fill the following roles starting in August:
*Preschool Teacher (x2) - During 2nd service
*Connect Teachers and Helpers- During either service
*NEW Position- Hallway Monitor (x4)- During either service

Please prayerfully consider serving our RiverBank Kids. We strive to provide a safe environment for fun with friends and learning about God. We would love to have you join our team! Email Tami Richardson at tami@HitTheRiver.com for more information.

Israel Trip With BYM
Visit Israel December 1-8, 2020 with Pastor Brad & Heidi! Walk where Jesus walked in Jerusalem. Be baptized in the Jordan River. Go out on the Sea of Galilee. If you’re married, renew your marriage vows in Cana. There’s a brochure on the credenza in the lobby with more information or talk to Pastor Brad and Heidi.

Cafe’ Help Needed
We are in need of volunteers to help in the cafe’ once a month, making coffee and setting up on Sunday morning. If you are interested, write cafe’ on a connection card and put it in the offering bucket at the end of service.

FREE Digital Bible Study Resources
One of our goals here is to provide everyone who attends The River with discipleship resources, which is why we’re giving all of our members access to RightNow Media for FREE! If you have not already signed up you easily get access by texting “RightNow HitTheRiver” to 41411.

Cultivating Prayer: Individually
As we cultivate prayer at The River, our focus this month is learning to pray using Scripture. Read this verse and ask God to grow you in learning scripture and sharing God’s truths with the next generation: “Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds… Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” (Deuteronomy 11:18-19)

In Need?
The River Church has a Deacon Team in place to address the needs of people who are in the midst of difficult circumstances. We invite people to contact us, whether for yourself or for another person at the River. If you want to be considered for help by the Deacon Team, it is as simple as sending a message to deaconteam@HitTheRiver.com. The Deacon Team is made up of 4 members: Melisa Bock, Vicki Chappell, Terry Daviaux, and Phil Wolf. All requests are handled with confidentiality. The Deacon Team also helps provide boxes of food and personal hygiene products to people in need whether or not they attend the River Church.

Clothing Donations - Matthew 25 Ministries
We are partnering with Matthew 25 Ministries to collect gently used clothing, shoes and blankets. There is now a clothing bin located in the parking lot next to the driveway as you pull in. Please consider donating to Matthew 25 Ministries. Their work takes them locally, nationally, and internationally. For more information on Matthew 25 Ministries you can go to m25m.org.

Angels Among Us
There are times in life when we can be in a situation where a meal would be a blessing, such as after giving birth or when dealing with a medical situation. Through our Angels Among Us ministry, you can help people within our church by bringing them a meal. To join, send an email to info@HitTheRiver.com letting us know you’d like to be part of this ministry. When a need arises, you will receive an email asking if you can sign up to bring a meal. If you are in a situation where you could be blessed by a meal, please email us at info@HitTheRiver.com.
I will serve my boss at my job in a Christ-honoring way.
1. I will respect their position.
1 Timothy 6:1 (paraphrased)
Let all who are under a yoke as employees regard their bosses/supervisors/managers as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled.
2. I will submit to their authority.
Bruce McGaffin’s 3 Rules For Working With A Bad Boss
1. Get callouses on your knees
2. Don’t compromise
3. Wait for God’s plan
3. I will practice the golden rule.
