Bible Study Classes: We normally have Bible study classes for all ages following the worship service. Join in one and learn more about the Bible.

Community Outreach Next Week, July 20: Plan now to join us for our community outreach project on July 20. A light lunch will be provided for those who will be helping with the project right after services. A craft for children will be worked on during lunch to give away to the residents of Arden Courts. Then the group will drive to Arden Courts and sing for the residents and the children will present the gifts.

Discover Beltsville: If you are interested in officially becoming a member of our church, please talk to Pastor Will. He will be glad to set up a time to meet with you and take you through the Discover Beltsville Class which is the first step to joining our church. The class only takes 20 minutes and will help you better understand what we are all about and how you can get involved.

What are some strange (to you) traditions people celebrate special events/holidays?

Read Mark 2:23-28 & Mark 3:1-6. Why was Jesus in conflict with the religious leaders of His day over how to keep the Sabbath?

Why is it important that we are careful in judging others and how they celebrate the Sabbath?

Pastor Tim says that the Sabbath is worth protecting? Do you think it is our responsibility to "protect" something God has sanctified?

Why does keeping the Sabbath matter?

Of the principles outlined in today's message, which one stands out to you most? Why? How might these principles help us in celebrating the Sabbath? Which might you struggle with? Why?

Read Isaiah 58:13-14. What does it mean by "your own pleasure," "your own ways," or "your own words?"

What are some practical ways we can prepare for the Sabbath? How do we prepare for the Sabbath?

Read Hebrews 10:23-25. Why is going to church and worshipping with others an important part of the Sabbath?

What are some ways we can make the Sabbath a special, sacred day of celebration?

What questions do you have about the Sabbath?

Next Steps:
If you're not familiar with the Sabbath, take some time to study it. We'd be happy to give you more material- of course, you can make it to the next five messages to learn more.

Take some time to reflect on how you observe the Sabbath. Does it reflect the value of a Sacred Gift God given to you by God?

Begin planning now for how you want to celebrate the next Sabbath

If you're not familiar with the basic Bible teachings, ask one of the church leaders about starting Bible studies.

If you haven’t yet, sign up to attend Discover Beltsville.
