Our Purpose
Generations Church understands the Biblical purpose for its existence. We strive in every way to follow the commands of Scripture in the following areas:
We are a church that is based on the life and teachings of Jesus. He is central to our individual lives and to the life and ministry of our Church. 1 Peter 2:5-7
We are a church that believes in the Great Commission. From our local community to the most remote part of the world, we believe that every person deserves the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. Mark 16:15
We are a church that believes in the power of prayer. Prayer draws us close to God and impacts our lives and world. Luke 11:1
We are a church that is dependent on the power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish the instructions of our Lord and to live a life that is pleasing to God. Acts 1:8
Seeds and Seasons Part 3

Previous Weeks:

• 4 Seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter
• Season of Preparation, Season of Promotion, Season of Affliction
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
“a time to be born and a time to die”

Show me, O LORD, my life's end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting is my life. Psalm 39:4

If you are 75 years old:
• You have lived 27,375 days.
• You have slept 25 years.
• You have consumed 82,125 meals.

Facts about death:
• Everyone dies!
• Everyone dies and then stands before God in judgment.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:10

And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. Revelation 20:12-15

If you want Jesus in your life today:
• Admit that you need him.
• Believe in the work Jesus did on your behalf.
• Confess your sins to him.
“a time to plant and a time to uproot,”

• The time to plant is a season of risk, faith, vision, timing, and investment.
• The season to uproot is a season where God says STOP!

What keeps us from seeing this season?
• Stubbornness
• Pride
• I have failed once and don’t wont to do it again
• We don’t listen to the counsel of others

If God is in the “season to uproot”, he will also be in the time to plant as well.
“a time to kill and a time to heal”

The season of healing begins with:
• Prayer
• Confession to God and others

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. James 5:16

• Walk in forgiveness and if possible reconciliation
"a time to tear down and a time to build"

• This season is the acknowledgement that it is time for a change in certain areas, and God has something new and better to put in your life.

We won’t “tear down” because:
• We don’t like change.
• We are emotionally connected to the present situation.

If you don’t tear it down you will never know the “new thing” that God will put in your life.

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness, and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19

and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. Isaiah 61:3
“a time to weep and a time to laugh,a time to mourn and a time to dance.”

• This is the season of deep emotions and allowing time for grieving a loss.

• If we are not careful, a season of mourning can turn into a lifetime of depression.

• This is also a season that God restores our hearts through victory, triumph, healing and laughter.
