Sermon Theme: We have not arrive yet; we are still on the journey. We cannot act as if what happens around us doesn’t matter. There are other people heading to the same destination and we have a responsibility toward them.

Abraham lived to be 175 years old! When God commanded him to leave his home of Haran, he was 75! So, Abraham was wandering the earth literally for A HUNDRED YEARS! Parents, can you imagine yourself doing that to your kids? Now, can you see how devoted Abraham was to God? He lived in a tent for 100 years and followed Him and did everything in his power to fulfill God’s will and promise.

Abraham WAS AN IMMIGRANT. Yes, his circumstances were different than of the ones modern day immigrants have to face, but he was still an IMMIGRANT. The only difference was he was in search of a land that God had promised him, and in search of God Himself.

For these people, life was unbearable; and what was even more
heartbreaking is that when they get to our borders, we turn them back to where they came from.
And if they do get in, we don’t treat them like how they should be treated.
Angels May Be Entertained Today

Ellen G. White says in one of her books, “The Adventist Home,” under the subtitle
“Angels May Be Entertained Today,”- The Bible lays much stress upon the practice of hospitality. Not only does it enjoin hospitality as a duty, but it presents many beautiful pictures of the exercise of this grace and the blessings which it brings. Foremost among these is the experience of Abraham…. {Please notice she’s talking about Abraham….}

These acts of courtesy God thought of sufficient importance to record in His word; and more than a thousand years later they were referred to by an inspired apostle: “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

The privilege granted Abraham and Lot is not denied to us. By showing hospitality to God’s children we, too, may receive His angels into our dwellings. Even in our day angels in human form enter the homes of men and are entertained by them. And Christians who live in the light of God’s countenance are always accompanied by unseen angels, and these holy beings leave behind them a blessing in our homes.

Adeventist Home 445.1-3
Men, women, and children. They abandon their country in fear mostly because the gangs threaten to take their children and make them gang members. What’s worse is their corrupt government, WHO ARE IN LEAGUE WITH THE GANGS. Meaning, the gangs pay off the government to stay off their case. THEIR GOVERNMENT DOESN’T EVEN CARE! THEY DON’T EVEN LIFT A FINGER TO PROTECT THEM. Their only defense is their little Militias they make to fight off the criminals.

BMW but no Tithe

DO YOU SEE THEIR CIRCUMSTANCES? CAN YOU SEE THE FULL SPECTRUM OF THE WORLD THEY’RE LIVING IN? WE LIVE IN THE SAME WORLD! Except, we’re on this side of the border and we are not doing anything...; but we are Christians… and we are “in the promise land...” Are you sure you’re in the promise land…??? How can we call ourselves Christians if we don’t treat these immigrants like one of our own? These people are waiting at our doorstep; they have brought their families BY FOOT and we, as ONE NATION UNDER GOD…, a county that stands for LIBERTY and JUSTICE for ALL… we are not going to do anything? Are you sure you’re in the promise land???

And you will be caught slipping soon, if you don’t ACT NOW.

Are you sure you’re in the promised land…?

Abraham moved to Canaan, an moved again and again... because Canaan wasn’t really the promise land for him… just like many of us here… some of us were born here… but many of you moved to the US from somewhere else… You just came to the “promised land...”
Today YOU ARE Abraham

That’s the promise land!!! Let’s not act as if we have already arrived! We’re still on the journey… like those immigrants… like Abraham… We’re still heading to the promised land…On our way there, we cannot not care about those that are in much more difficult situations. Immigrants at the border… immigrants in our neighborhood…, people that lack the most basic essentials to survive… People! Yes! People…. They’re just people…

Today you’re Abraham…! Do you remember what God promised to him... ? In you all the families of the earth shall be blessed…

Today YOU ARE Abraham… So I have a question for you: Are you sure you’re in the promise land?
