Title: A Disciple Who's Ready for Monday Seeks the Good of the City, Working Diligently for the Flourishing of All
Scripture: Colossians 3:23-24
Speaker: Nathan Miller,

>> If you want to take Jesus seriously, you have to take your work seriously.
If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, 'Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.’ - Martin Luther King Jr
#1 Your work is seen
#2 Your work will be rewarded
#3 Your work is so much bigger than you
There is actually a BIG difference between passion and purpose. Passion is “do what you love,” whereas purpose is “do what contributes.” Passion asks, what can the world give to you (a hedonistic inclination). Purpose asks, what can you give to the world (an other-orientation).
- Morten Hansen
What the Church should be telling him is this: that the very first demand that his religion makes upon him is that he should make good tables.
- Dorothy Sayers
> Where have I experienced or seen brokenness in my work?
> How is God forming me in my work/school/etc.?
> What are the ways my work loves my neighbor and serves my Savior?
