Join Guest Speaker M Joseph Moussa as we discuss The Compassionate Heart.
The present state of our nation is one of bitter conflict between two opposing political parties that can't seem to find common ground on anything. Just this week, we watched as representatives from both parties appealed to the compassion of Americans in an effort to accomplish their specific agendas regarding border security. In reality, neither side's agenda really has anything to do with true compassion. When Jesus told his disciples that they would go to the ends of the earth to be his witnesses, he didn't mean "Set up a wall and keep them away", but he also didn't mean, "Let everyone in so they all have to come to you". He told them to GO and make disciples of ALL nations. This means we have to be willing to reach out to those around us AND consider how we can be a part of the work God is doing other places and with other people groups. That is true compassion for the lost, the fearful, and the broken. This week at Friendship, you will hear from a man who grew up in Syria and now feels led by the Lord to plant Arabic-speaking Christian churches to reach some of the very people who we often ignore. This will be an opportunity for you to find out what God is doing in his pursuit of these individuals and how you can be part of it.
