God’s gracious love was seen that night when His own Son was born of a virgin named Mary. The Word of God proclaims the truth of His birth and also shares a great challenge for us - to love like God loved us in giving His one and only Son, Jesus.
1 John 4:7-16 NIV
It is clear from this passage that God is love! He showed that love by sending His Son into the world that we might have life and live through Him. Jesus came as a child to become a man so He could realistically give His life as an “atoning sacrifice for our sins.” He is the only solution for our sin problem. Jesus the perfect, sinless Savior was the only One who could die for sinful man. No one who had sin could die for others sin, only the One who had no sin. He became my sacrifice for my sin.
Not only did Jesus die for us on the cross to save us from our sins and then He was raised from the dead to give us eternal life, but God made it possible for us to have Jesus with us all the time. God loved us so much He has given us His Holy Spirit to live in us when we become a child of God; we are made complete in Him because of His love through the His Spirit.
The Candle of Love represents God loving us so much that He gave His one and only Son, that if we believe in Him we will not perish but we will have everlasting life.
Wouldn’t you like to celebrate your eternal life today? Praise Him in your spirit because the love of God, Jesus lives in your through the Holy Spirit. That is something to celebrate!

Lord Jesus I believe that you are the Christ, the One who came to die for me to forgive me of my sin. I am a sinner, but I want to be your child so I ask for you to come into my heart and life and become my Lord and Master right now. I believe in your Name and want your salvation. Forgive me of my sin and change my life forever. Amen.
