Chestnut Ridge Church
Clear as Mud—Part 6
The gospel can be confusing. What exactly should be included in the presentation of it? What does God require of us to receive forgiveness of our sins? How do we receive the gift of eternal life? Our current series, Clear as Mud, will answer these questions and more. No message is more important than the gospel—so, let’s clear it up.

Clear as Mud: Part 6 (Tim Haring)

Problem: We don't know how to communicate our faith.
Solution: The problem, the solution, and the response.
Today's Takeaway: Always be ready
First, we need a prepared heart.
Second, we need a prepared message.
This does not mean, of course, that every Christian is to be a highly skilled apologist for the faith. It does mean that every believer should grasp the essentials of the faith and should have the ability to explain to others why they think the Christian faith is true. 5 - Schreiner, T. R.
Approach 1:
Problem, solution, response

The problem is sin.
The solution is Jesus.
The response God is looking for is faith (or trust).
Approach 2:
The Romans Road is a set of five Bible references that tell the gospel story.

Romans 3:23
Romans 6:23
Romans 5:8
Romans 10:9
Romans 10:13

Approach 3:
The Bridge diagram
A believer’s testimony should not be given in an arrogant manner but with gentleness and respect. 6 - Raymer
Third, we need a prepared life.
Be ready with:
A prepared heart
A prepared message
A prepared life
