Impacting is –the striking of one thing against another; forceful contact; collision. Impactful is - having a major impact or effect.
There is no such thing as a bad seed just bad planters. A seed is a concentrated harvest, but not until it’s put into the ground. For your seed (concentrated harvest) to Impact people, places, and things the ground has to be prepared. You cannot throw your seed anywhere and expect a good harvest. The ground has to be prepared to receive the seed.
Every ground is not alike. The spiritual ground of each person is a unique as their fingerprints or DNA. This unseen mixture includes our personality, attitudes, and even our sinful nature. These are shaped by our families, peer groups, and life experiences of rejection, loneliness, trauma, etc. into this landscape of the heart comes the Word of God. The ground can accept or reject God’s Word.
God hides things in things; in the seed, he hides a forest; in an embryo, he hides a nation; in today, he hides the vast future! Your body is an office where God had hidden many great treasures of victory and power with impacting and supernatural dominion. You may not see or feel them, but they are in there!
WHERE MANY PEOPLE GO WRONG IS THEY EAT THEIR SEED INSTEAD OF SOWING IT, because they don’t know what kind of ground to use.
Hosea 4:6 - My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Matthew 7:7-8- Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asked receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
What is the best ground for an Impacting Seed? It is the job of the Holy Spirit to direct you to right ground to plant the Impacting seed. John 14:26 - But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Matthew 9:38 decrees him as the Lord of the Harvest.
Where do I get Impacting Seed? Genesis 1:11 - And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
2 Corinthians 9:10 - For God is the one who provides Seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. NLT
Genesis 8:22 - While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
What DETERMINES THE YIELD OF THE HARVEST? The Impactful Ground!
LUKE 8:5-15 - A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. 6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. 7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. 8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. 9 And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? 10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. 11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. 14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. 15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.
There are four types of ground that is given to us in Luke 8:5-15.
1) Wayside ground – the wayside soil has been pressed down by a steamroller of life’s negative experiences. These hearts have been numbed by life’s struggles. Because of the sinfulness of heart, the soil becomes as hard as concrete pavement. The Word of God lands on the surface but goes no further.
They hear the message as it goes in one ear and out the other. The birds come and quickly take the seed away.
2) Rocky ground - the rocky soil hears and accepts the message with excitement. They rely on feelings, meetings and speakers. But the Roots do not go deep
They expect continual blessings and unprepared for testing and hardship. They tasted a bite-size sample of the message, but are put off by the cost of following Christ. They have talked the talk but are not committed to walk the walk. When the heat is turned up, they dry up and wither away.
3) Thorny ground – the thorny soil goes further than others, as it has some root system.
But the worries of the world, false promises of riches, and the pursuit of pleasure choke out the seed. The seed is neglected and crowed out. Belief that is not deep causes the seed to be unfruitful.
4) Good ground – the good soil can be described by the words: committed, action and sacrifice. They know following Christ is not a hobby or a leisure time activity. Rather, it is a matter of death and life. The harvest is plentiful some 30 60 100 fold.
WHICH GROUND DOES YOU’RE SEED FALL ON? Your attitude plays a lot in what ground you choose your seed to grow in. A sower should never waste seed. Your attitude will determine the value of the Impact.
God’s seed is to impact People, Places, and Things. This seed was created to grow in good ground.
Good grown will caused the seed to have strong roots. Strong roots determines the longevity of the concentrated harvest.
How strong are your roots today? The growth of a harvest will only be healthy as its roots are strong and deep.
So is it with Disciples for Christ. God’s Word speaks of the importance to have a Healthy roots system.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 - Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. 8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Colossians 2:6-7 - As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him. 7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
A healthy root system causes the Seeds of Salvation, Healing, and Restoration to have Impact.
When we hear the Word it is very important that it Impacts our hearts and becomes rooted in our lives. The depth of the planting is based on the openness of our heart. If our heart is not fully open, then there is only a shallow planting, which is easily rooted out by the enemy, Satan
Matthew 3:9 - Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. Are you listening ALM?
If our roots in God are strong and healthy our outward lives will automatically show the Impact and nature of Christ to those around us.
John 15:4-5 - Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
We have been giving Impacting Seed. Jesus! For that seed to be impactful we have to look for good ground. Stop wasting your seed on wayside ground, rocky ground, and thorny ground. Seek First the Kingdom of God and his Righteousness. ALM look for the Holy Spirit to lead and guide to the 100 fold return.
Say this with me. My impactful seed will only go into impacting ground. No more wasting of the seed. I recognize the seed so I can Identify the harvest.
