“grace” - “unmerited favor” or “unconditional love.”

Grace then is getting something nice that you have not earned or deserve.

On the cross, Jesus gave us the gift of a relationship with God, something that we cannot earn by ourselves nor do we deserve.

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. and that we deserve death.” Romans 3:23, NLT

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 6:23, NLT

“God will also count us as righteous if we believe in him, the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.

He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.” Romans 4:24-25, NLT

“But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8, NLT

“But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace.” 1 Corinthians 15:10, NLT

“The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer[a]: ‘I thank you, God, that I am not like other people—cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like that tax collector!” Luke 18:11, NLT

There is no place that grace will not go, no person that it refuses to reach down towards.

“For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people.

And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures.” Titus 2:11-12, NLT

“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.

Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:8-10, NLT

We extend grace to all people because of the grace God has shown us.
