Week 7 || Restart Smart: How to Not Die a Fool
Date: 10.28.18
Text: Proverbs 26:1-12; 29:1
Conversation Starters help us dig deeper, connecting Sunday’s sermons with our everyday lives. These prompts have been designed to help Community Groups grow in their relationship with God, with one another, and with their neighbors.
Sometimes, wisdom seems prudent but unfulfilling; smart, but less than satisfying. In those moments, we need to be reminded that only the path of wisdom leads to life without regret.
What is the biggest thing you’ll take away from our seven-week study of Proverbs?
What’s your biggest regret from high school?
Let’s be honest: The wise choice isn’t always the most appealing choice. What tends to appeal to you more than wisdom? (i.e. what’s fun? what’s cheapest? what’s immediate?)
READ PROVERBS 8:22-36 What stands out to you from this passage? Verse 34 names the importance of “listening” to Lady Wisdom. Is it easy or difficult for you to hear the voice of wisdom? What has God been saying to you during our seven week journey through Proverbs?
What is a big decision that you are facing? How can you embrace God’s wisdom as you make it?
What new habit or discipline can our group hold you accountable to embrace as a result of our study?
PRAY. Ask the Lord to give you an awe and reverence for him above all else. Also, ask the Lord to help you value the path of wisdom.
