Seeing Jesus in Esther 2:15-18

Ahasuerus used his authority and power to use others for his pleasure. Jesus uses His authority and power for our good, laying down His life in the process

Ahasuerus sought out a beautiful and pure brideJesus seeks out the least, the lost and the broken and makes us into a beautiful and pure bride!

Ahasuerus took away the young virgin’s purity and future and left them with shame.

Jesus has taken away the shame of our past, and covered us in His righteousness and given us a future

Discussion Questions - Re-read our passage from this week (Esther 2:15-18) and then with your Growth Group, family, friends, etc. thoughtfully answer the following:

1. Do you believe that you have favor with people, or do you sense that many people are against you? Why do you feel this way?

2. When was the last time you changed your mind due to the input of others? How is being open to counsel a sign of strength?

3. When was a time in your life that you actually compromised what you knew was right, and looking back you can see how God worked in spite of your compromise?

4. Living for the world leaves us with shame, living for Christ gives us peace. What might be an area of your past from which you still carry shame? What does it look like to release this to the forgiveness of Christ? - read Colossians 2:14

5. What’s one practical way God is calling you to love your neighbor that you currently aren’t doing?

6. Who in your life needs to hear some “truth in love” counsel from you?
