Giving

We give as an expression of worship and a display of our relationship with Jesus Christ. We give as God desires, with gratitude and a cheerful heart, for He tells us in 2 Corinthians 9 that “each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give; not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Responding in the darkness
Three decisions I will make in the darkness.
l. I will refuse to isolate myself.
Isolation in the darkness can cause us to dwell on what God is asking us to release.
Isolation can make a temporary struggle feel permanent.
ll. I will not let my circumstances control my emotions.
Three emotions we experience in the darkness.
1. We experience shock.
2. We feel sorrow.
3. We begin to struggle.
lll. I will focus on what will last.
The darkness can cause us to lose sight of what really matters.
What are we focusing on that's dying around us?
- Our comfort instead of people who need Christ.
- Our offense instead of our relationships.
- Our circumstances instead of God's purposes.
- What we lost instead of what God is doing.
- What's changing around us instead of what God is changing within us.
