Jesus: From the cross I prayed, “Father, into your hands I entrust my spirit.” The Father’s hands are good hands.
Qohelet: Everything is the same for everyone: There is one fate for the righteous and the wicked…
Jesus: What a person does in this life matters. One day I will separate the nations like a farmer separates the sheep from the goats.
Qohelet: But there is hope for whoever is joined with all the living, since a live dog is better than a dead lion.
Jesus: You’re right, so we must make the most of the time given to us. We must work while it is day, for night is coming for us all.
Qohelet: There is no longer a reward for them because the memory of them is forgotten.
Jesus: The one who conquers will be dressed in white clothes, and I will never erase his name from the book of life but will acknowledge his name before my Father and before his angels.
