Week 3 - Renewing Relationships
Digging Deeper Questions
Open It
Share one way technology can make relationships better, and one way it can make relationships harder.
Dig It
1. Read Romans 12:9-13. What specific instructions does Paul give for how Christians should love and treat one another? What stands out to you?
2. What does Paul mean by “rejoice with those who rejoice” and “weep with those who weep” (see Romans 9:15)? What do these commands require from us relationally?
3. Throughout Romans 12:9-21, Paul repeatedly describes love using 30 specific actions. What does this passage tell us about the Christian life?
Live It
1. Romans 12:9 says, “Let love be genuine.” Are there relationships where you tend to present a polished version of yourself rather than allowing yourself to be known honestly? What makes genuine vulnerability difficult?
2. What is one practical boundary you could put around your phone or technology this week so you can give greater attention to someone God has placed in your life?
3. Who is one person you could intentionally move toward this week by calling, meeting, serving, or simply being present? What specific step will you take?
Pray It
Ask God to renew your mind and relationships so that your love becomes genuine, your attention becomes available to others, and your life reflects the “one another” commands of Scripture. Pray for the courage to be known, the humility to serve, and the willingness to show up for others in both joy and sorrow.
