If someone went through your house, garage, car, or phone for five minutes, what is one thing they would learn about you pretty quickly?
What stands out to you most in these verses, and why?
When you think about your spending, your schedule, and the things you make room for in your life, what do those things reveal about what is most important to you?
Jesus says, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Why do you think our hearts so naturally become attached to the things we invest in?
What do you think it looks like for our possessions to become a tool for God’s purposes rather than something that simply serves our own purposes?
Closing Thought
Your stuff tells a story about you. It can reveal what you love, what you value, what you trust, and where your heart is invested. The goal isn’t to feel guilty about having or enjoying possessions. The question is whether what we have is ultimately possessing us, or whether we are willing to let what God has entrusted to us flow through our lives for purposes greater than ourselves.
Closing Prayer
God, thank You for everything You have entrusted to us. Help us remember that none of it truly belongs to us—it all comes from You. Show us where we have become too attached to our possessions or where we have placed our security in the things we have. Give us open hands and generous hearts. Help us use what You have given us not just for ourselves, but for Your purposes and Your Kingdom. May the story our stuff tells reflect our love for You and what matters most to You. Amen.
