The Text in Context
1. Sabbath...
2. Sabbath...
3. Sabbath...
4. Sabbath...
1. If Sabbath is stopping, then what makes it difficult for us to stop working, producing, and accomplishing things? What might God be inviting us into?
2. If Sabbath affirms our truest identity, then how does regularly stopping our work and productivity remind us that our identity is not ultimately found in what we accomplish? What might this teach us about who we are and who we are before God?
3. If Sabbath produces humility, then how can intentionally resting/stopping help us recognize that God is the ultimate sustainer? What are your thoughts on "ego death" and "total surrender to God"? Do you sit comfortably with these or does it generate feelings of unease? Why?
4. The Sabbath is presented not as a restriction but as something God gifts to believers. What would it look like for you to receive Sabbath as a gift rather than view it as another obligation—and what might you gain by doing so?

Join us for Second Hour starting Sunday, September 6th! In the ancient world, Apocalyptic literature was some of the most hopeful literature ever written and the The Book of Daniel is no exception. Pastor Jon will explore Apocalyptic literature - how did it develop? How was it received? What hope did the writers of Apocalypses hold and how can that hope shape us today? Email pastorjon@stonebridgesimi.com to RSVP.

Join us for dinner, games, a raffle, and bounce houses for the kids—all while discovering ways to get involved at StoneBridge. Explore how your unique gifts and interests can make a difference, meet others, and find a place to serve that’s a great fit for you! RSVP at the link below!

Last weekend in worship, we heard from Greg Barshaw of Connect2 Ministries, StoneBridge’s ministry partner in Haiti. Connect2 works to bring hope and freedom to Haitian children living in restavek—a form of child slavery—while providing food, clothing, education, medical care, and support for local staff and pastors serving their communities. Want to help? You can make a financial gift through StoneBridge and designate your donation “Haiti.” Your generosity directly supports this important, God-honoring work. You can also learn more about Connect2 Ministries and find information about participating in this year’s Walk for Restaveks, held right here in Simi Valley by visiting https://connect2ministries.org/.
