Sermon Title: Made for More
17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
Regeneration = being “born again” spiritually.
“Unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”— John 3:3
Before regeneration:
● living for self
● spiritually separated from God
● old patterns and old heart
● living for self
● spiritually separated from God
● old patterns and old heart
After regeneration:
● new life in Christ
● a changed heart
● new desires to follow Jesus
● growing love for God and people
● new life in Christ
● a changed heart
● new desires to follow Jesus
● growing love for God and people
Regeneration is not just turning over a new leaf; it is receiving a new life. It’s more than behavior change—it is heart
transformation.
transformation.
Regeneration is the Holy Spirit giving new life to a person who has been spiritually dead.
Christ’s love should be the reason we live (v. 14)
This means our decisions, priorities, and actions should not be based only on comfort, fear, or self-interest, but on love for Christ.
Take-home question: What is driving my life right now—my own
desires, or Christ’s love?
desires, or Christ’s love?
We are called to live for Jesus, not for ourselves (v. 15)
That affects:
● how we spend our time
● how we treat people
● how we handle trials
● what we pursue

Take-home question: Am I building my life around myself, or around Jesus?
In Christ, your old life does not define you (v. 17)
Your past failures, old identity, and former life no longer have the final word. In Christ, you are a new creation.

This means:
● grace is greater than your past
● change is possible
● God is still at work in you
