Communion
Chapel Rock practices an 'open communion' meaning that if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then you are welcome to participate in the communion service. The elder/staff member giving the devotion will provide instructions.
Jesus is risen! Go find him… and join him!
STOP
The first thing Easter tells us to do is stop. Stop looking for life in dead places. Stop looking for Jesus where he used to be. Stop expecting a corpse when God has raised a King.
LISTEN
If you're going to understand Easter, you have to listen to Heaven's interpretation of what happened. But Heaven has already interpreted it for us: He is Risen!
So listen. Listen when heaven tells you your sin is not stronger than Christ’s blood!
Listen when heaven tells you your shame does not get the last word!
Listen when heaven tells you death is defeated and one day will die!
Listen when heaven tells you despair is a liar!
Listen when heaven tells you the crucified Jesus is now the living Lord.
GO
The angel does not just announce resurrection. He gives directions. “But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’” So what is the angel saying? He is saying, “The story is not over. The risen Christ is already ahead of you. Go where he leads. Go meet him there.”
The risen Christ is not hiding from his disciples. He is calling them back to Himself! Easter is not just an event to celebrate, it is a summons to follow Jesus.
Easter commands us to get on mission with Jesus!
Go tell somebody about it.
Go forgive somebody.
Go serve somebody.
Go obey what you already know he told you to do.
Go back to the place of discipleship / Calling / first love.
Go rejoin the mission.
Go meet the living Christ where he is already at work.
Jesus is risen! Go find him and join him in His work!
VISION COMMITMENT
We BRING our brokenness to Jesus because a CHANGE to wholeness is the story we SHARE.
