Jesus Is The True And Better Adam
Two Gardens
The Garden of Eden, SIN entered the world.
Sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin… Romans 5:12
The Garden of Gethsemane is SURRENDER.
Not as I will, but as you will. Matthew 26:39
Two Men
The first man chose DISOBEDIENCE over God.
“When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye… she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.” Genesis 3:6
For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. Romans 5:19
The better Adam chose OBEDIENCE for us.
My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.” Matthew 26:39
And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!
Philippians 2:8
Through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. Romans 5:19
Two Outcomes
The result of the first Adam is DEATH.
“For as in Adam all die…” 1 Corinthians 15:22
The result of the BETTER ADAM is LIFE.
“…so in Christ all will be made alive.” 1 Corinthians 15:22
