What is the Church?

Church (Ekklesia) - to govern; to establish order, accountability, and responsibility.

Ekklesia is revealed in 3 Principle Expressions:
- Koinonia (Fellowship)
- Oikos (Family)
- Soma (Body)

Vanity = worthlessness, falsehood, emptiness, idolatry

A gathering that is orchestrated by vanity is NOT a church.

Revelation 2:9 calls this gathering "a synagogue of Satan".

2. OWNERSHIP TEST

Matthew 16:18
"...I will build MY church..."

The Church is not a family business!

When you operate by the revelation of flesh and blood, you will be in error of claiming ownership rather than submitting to stewardship.

Two Principle Drivers of Wrong Ownership:
1. Flesh: human nature that is not governed by God.
2. Self: Centered on the image of man, not God.

Flesh + Self = Fallen Nature.

No Righteousness.

Gates = Seat of government; where rulers met to issue laws, judgements, and counsel.

Hades = The domain of death’s authority, where sin and fear reign.

The church is uniquely designed by its builder to not only withstand but to destroy all the plans, laws, and weapons being formed by the gates of Hades.

4. THE STONE TEST

Matthew 16:18
"...And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it."

Peter (Greek: petros) = a rock; a stone

HOW TO RESPOND:

1. Invite the Holy Spirit to examine you as a living stone and refine you by fire.

2. Repent for every place flesh or self ruled, where obedience to Jesus was delayed or replaced.

3. Pray for a strengthened Church and bold advancement in 2026, confident the gates of Hades will not prevail.

4. Re-dedicate yourself fully to the Lord, choosing alignment with the Father’s heart.
