About Covenant Church

Covenant is a group of people who gather together every week to get to know God better and become transformed through the love of Jesus Christ. We exist to develop followers of Christ who worship God passionately, connect with God’s people and impact God’s kingdom.
We are a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). If you would like to know more about the church, visit www.covenantpalmbay.org or connect with your campus staff.

About Our Speaker

The Rev. Mike Osborne joined the staff of RTS Orlando in March, 2019, as the new Dean of Students. He also serves as Director of Field Education and Placement, assisting and mentoring MDiv students as they prepare for full-time gospel ministry. In addition Mike is often found in the classroom, teaching preaching labs and pastoral counseling classes.
Prior to coming on board at RTS Orlando, Mike was for many years a pastor. He served churches in Missouri and South Carolina before moving to central Florida in 1996. Most recently he was at University Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Orlando, serving as a pastor from 2001 to 2019. Mike is the author of the book, Surviving Ministry: How to Weather the Storms of Church Leadership.
Mike hails from a small town in South Carolina. He graduated from Furman University in Greenville, SC, and received his M.Div. degree from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis in 1986. He and his wife Suzy live in east Orlando. They have four adult children and eleven grandchildren. Mike enjoys playing racquetball and guitar, watching movies, traveling to visit his kids and grandkids, and sharing good food and laughter with friends.
1. Two things that defined Jonathan’s love for David
2. Two things that must define our love for one another
…the Christians, O King, have found the truth. They do good to their enemies, and they love one another. From widows they do not turn away; and they deliver the orphan from him who treats him harshly. And he who has, gives to him who has not, without boasting. And when they see a stranger, they take him in to their homes and rejoice over him as a brother. And whenever one of their poor passes from the world, each of them according to his ability gives heed to him and carefully sees to his burial. And if they hear that one of their number is imprisoned or afflicted on account of the name of their Messiah, all of them anxiously minister to his necessity, and if it is possible to redeem him they set him free. And if there is among them any that is poor and needy, and if they have no spare food, they fast two or three days in order to supply to the needy their lack of food.

If the church is to be effective in advocating and achieving a new social order in the nation, it must itself be a new social order.
