1. Holy (food)
2. Makes a garment become Holy
3. *Holiness is not transferred
They thought:
We are bringing offerings to a holy altar,
So…offering is holy and so are we.
Reality:
We are impure people who bring offerings to the altar,
So…gifts are impure and so are we.
Looking back, to remember their struggles when they turned from God
Haggai gives them hope (2:19) that what they see right now isn’t the end of the story
