Abide in Christ
“ABIDE IN CHRIST” - is another way of saying that you claim to be a Christian or a follower of Christ - his expectation is that we “ought to walk in the same way that Christ walked.” John’s expectation for us as Christ-followers is that we will in fact desire to follow in the direction that the footsteps of Christ’s life led him.
“If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.” (15:10)
Walk in it
Sacrificial - we will willingly serve others while not expecting anything in return. Unconditional - we will not be discriminative with our love, but instead we will demonstrate the love that Christ has given to us to whoever he may bring across our paths. Faithful - we will not love only when it is easy and good, but rather, we will remain committed in our love for others based on Christ’s committed love to us.
