Outdoor Worship Area (weather permitting) - 9:30am
Last "Outdoor Worship" of 2024
We begin our prayers with praise because Jesus instructed that prayer begins with who God is, where He is, and with an active longing that our kingdoms become more like His.

God Summons Us

Leader: In you, O Lord, we take refuge; let us never be put to shame;

All: in your righteousness deliver us!

Leader: Incline your ear to us; rescue us speedily!

All: Be a rock of refuge for us, a strong fortress to save us!

Leader: For you are our rock and fortress;

All: and for your name's sake you lead us and guide us;

Adapted from Psalm 31
Songs of Praise

Nothing But The Blood

What can wash away my sin
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

O precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow
No other fount I know
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

For my pardon this I see
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
For my cleansing this my plea
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

Nothing can for sin atone
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Naught of good that I have done
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

This is all my hope and peace
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
This is all my righteousness
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

Victory In Jesus

I heard an old old story, How a Savior came from glory
How He gave His life on Calvary, To save a wretch like me
I heard about His groaning, Of His precious blood's atoning
Then I repented of my sins, And won the victory

O victory in Jesus, My Savior forever
He sought me and bought me, With His redeeming blood
He loved me ere I knew Him, And all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory, Beneath the cleansing flood

I heard about His healing, Of His cleansing pow'r revealing
How He made the lame to walk again, And caused the blind to see
And then I cried dear Jesus, Come and heal my broken spirit
And somehow Jesus came and brought, To me the victory

I heard about a mansion, He has built for me in glory
And I heard about the streets of gold, Beyond the crystal sea
About the angels singing, And the old redemption story
And some sweet day I'll sing up there, The song of victory

Liturgy

Silent Personal Confession
Confession is the instinctive response of a natural person to a Holy God. Isaiah says in chapter 6, “I am a man of unclean lips” in response to his sense of God’s holiness. Confession is a movement of obedience to God. We remember that there is no salvation but in Jesus, and that our hope for a flourishing life includes learning to confess and repent - to God and to neighbor. Therefore we confess with joy - knowing the mercy and grace of Jesus is ours. Knowing that He forgives us and trains us up into lives of life.

Unison Confession
Gracious and holy God, we praise You as the triune God who lives in perfect unity. Though Jesus prayed that we would be one, we are a people divided against ourselves as we cling to the false values, priorities, and commitments of this world. We repent of our narcissistic preoccupation that has ruptured our relationship with You and others. May Your Spirit convict and heal us by showing us again the cross of Jesus which is mighty to subdue, comfort, and save us. For we pray in Jesus’ name and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Declaration of Forgiveness
Christ died for us while we were yet sinners; that proves God’s love toward us. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Glory to God. Amen.

Doxology
Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures here below
Praise Him above ye heavenly host
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
Amen.

Passing of the Peace
The peace of the Lord be with you.
And also with you.

Prayer and Dismissal of Children to Children’s Worship
Give Me Jesus
CCLI Song # 4874344
by Jeremy Camp

In the morning when I rise
In the morning when I rise
In the morning when I rise
Give me Jesus

Give me Jesus
Give me Jesus
You can have all this world
Just give me Jesus

When I am alone
When I am alone
Oh when I am alone
Give me Jesus

Jesus give me Jesus
When I come to die
When I come to die
Oh when I come to die
Give me Jesus
Prayer of Illumination

Closing Song

There Is A Fountain (Full of Love)
There is a fountain filled with blood
Drawn from Emmanuel’s veins
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains
Lose all their guilty stains
Lose all their guilty stains
And sinners plunged beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains

The dying thief rejoiced to see
That fountain in his day
And there may I, though vile as he,
Wash all my sins away
Wash all my sins away
Wash all my sins away
And there may I though vile as he
Wash all my sins away

Hallelujah fountain full of love for us, Poured out on us
E’er since by faith I saw the stream
Thy flowing wounds supply
Redeeming love has been my theme
And shall be till I die
And shall be till I die
And shall be till I die

Redeeming love has been my theme
And shall be till I die

God Sends Us
God the Father loves us, Jesus has reconciled us to Him, and we have the Holy Spirit.

Benediction
The with-God life sends us into our neighborhoods as His agents of neighbor love.
Communion

Leader: What do we believe about God, the Good Father?
All: We believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

Leader: And what do we believe about the Son, Jesus Christ?
All: We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, begotten from the Father before all ages, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made; of the same essence as the Father. Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven; he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary, and was made human. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate; he suffered and was buried. The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will never end.

Leader: And what do we believe about God, the Holy Spirit?
All: We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life. He proceeds from the Father and the Son, and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified. He spoke through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look forward to the resurrection of the dead, and to life in the world to come. Amen.

Words of Institution and Receiving of the Elements of Communion
Our God Reigns (How Lovely On The Mountains)

How lovely on the mountains
Are the feet of Him
Who brings good news, good news
Announcing peace
Proclaiming news of happiness
Our God reigns, our God reigns

Our God reigns, our God reigns
Our God reigns, our God reigns

He had no stately form
He had no majesty
That we should be drawn to Him
He was despised
And we took no account of Him
Yet now He reigns with the Most High

It was our sin and guilt
That bruised and wounded Him
It was our sin that brought Him down
When we like sheep had gone astray
Our Shepherd came
And on His shoulders bore our shame

Meek as a lamb
That's led out to the slaughterhouse
Dumb as a sheep before its shearer
His life ran down
Upon the ground like pouring rain
That we might be born again

Out of the tomb
He came with grace and majesty
He is alive He is alive
God loves us so see here
His hands His feet His side
Yes we know He is alive

You watchmen lift your voices joyfully as one
Shout for your King your King
See eye to eye the Lord restoring Zion
Your God reigns your God reigns

Waste places of Jerusalem
Break forth with joy
We are redeemed redeemed
The Lord has saved and comforted His people
Your God reigns your God reigns

Ends of the earth
See the salvation of your God
Jesus is Lord is Lord
Before the nations He has bared His holy arm
Your God reigns your God reigns

It Is Well With My Soul

It is well with my soul
It is well it is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well it is well with my soul

When peace like a river attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot You have taught me to say
It is well it is well with my soul

Though the devil will ruin though trials may come
Let this blessed assurance control
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate
And He shed His own blood for my soul

My sin oh the bliss of this glorious thought
My sin not in part but the whole
Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more
Praise the Lord praise the Lord oh my soul

And Lord haste the day
When my faith shall be sight
And the clouds be rolled back as a scroll
The trump shall resound
And the Lord shall descend
Even so it is well with my soul

Unison Prayer
Gracious God, you have made us one with all your people in heaven and on earth. You have fed us with the bread of life, and renewed us for your service. Help us who have shared Christ’s body and received his cup, to be his faithful disciples, so that our daily living may be part of the life of your kingdom, and our love be your love, reaching out into the life of the world; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Closing Song

My Savior My God
I am not skilled to understand
What God has willed what God has planned
I only know at His right hand
Stands One who is my Savior

I take Him at His word and deed
Christ died to save me this I read
And in my heart I find a need
Of Him to be my Savior

That He would leave His place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange so once did I
Before I knew my Savior

My Savior loves my Savior lives
My Savior's always there for me
My God He was my God He is
My God is always gonna be

Yes living dying let me bring
My strength my solace from this spring
That He who lives to be my King
Once died to be my Savior

My Savior lives my Savior loves
My Savior lives my Savior loves my Savior lives

Offering

The Apostle Paul assumes that local gatherings of Christ followers support the work of the Gospel. He describes giving monetarily in almost every letter he writes in the New Testament. Christ followers give what they can for the work of the local church and for mission churches. Similarly here, we hope you are planning and then giving joyfully because you believe in the mission and vision of this local gathering. There is a box by near the entrance to receive your offering.

Children’s Worship
In an effort to teach our children more about worship we will be taking a break from Sunday School this summer and switching to Children's worship. Children going into Pre-K4 through sixth grade will join us outside for the first part of the worship service and then right before the sermon we will move inside to Celebration Hall for Children's worship. We will sing worship songs with motions, pray together, read scripture together, and listen to a short children's sermon from one of our church's amazing leaders or teachers. The nursery in Room 7 will be open for the entire service for children 3 and under.

Hearing Assist Receivers Available
Hearing assist receivers can be picked up from the sound crew before the service.

Prayer Opportunity
At the conclusion of the service, our prayer team is available to pray for you.

Live Streaming
We are live-streaming this service on the internet today for the benefit of our missionaries, home-bound, and those who are ill.
