Good morning! Join us this week as we continue a new sermon series called "Make Room For Jesus" with guest Pastor Greg Bondurant from Westerville Christian Church.

The Jesus tradition would offer this: human desire is infinite because we were made to live with God forever in this world and nothing less will ever satisfy us, so our only hope is to put desire back in its proper place on God. Sabbath comes to us from the Hebrew Shabbat. The word literally means “to stop.” The Sabbath is simply a day to stop. Stop working, wanting, worrying - just stop. How do we do that? Sabbath was woven into Jesus’ weekly routine.

Two Questions about the practice of Sabbath
#1: Where is Sabbath found in the Old Testament?
The Sabbath – just like an animal or a human being – has the life-giving capacity to procreate. To fill the world up with more life.
-John Mark Comer
"The Sabbath is an invitation to enter delight. Sabbath is the holy time where we feast, play, dance, have sex, sing, pray, laugh, tell stories, read, paint, walk and watch creation in its fullness. Few people are willing to enter the Sabbath and sanctify it, to make it holy, because a day full of delight and joy is more than most people can bear in a lifetime, let alone a week."
-Dan Allender
Application #1: Sabbath Requires Remembering
Application #2: Sabbath Equals Resistance
