The whole world has questions, but only God has answers. The answers are available, but the world needs people to share that message in a way it can hear it.
1. Indulgence, Indifference & Irreverence
a. Daniel 5:1-9
b. Indulgence: A Feast for 1,000
c. Indifference: The Setting of Daniel 5: Babylon’s geographical location, Babylon’s strength, Babylon’s king
d. Irreverence: Belshazzar brought out the gold cups from the Temple
e. The Finger of God: Writing on the wall terrified the King. (Not an idol, example of Exodus, The Tablets, and the Spirit of God)
f. History repeats itself: Inept Counselors, Wealth, Power, Human Wisdom
g. Fear brings change

2. Daniel Delivers
a. Daniel 5:10-24
b. Wisdom was available (Light & Understanding)
c. History repeats itself: a revelation from God, a fearful ruler, and God’s servant to the rescue
d. Daniel’s interaction with the king
i. Daniel could speak for God
ii.The generosity of the king meant nothing to Daniel
iii.Daniel lived with respect for the “office”
iv.Daniel spoke with courage
e. The world is unaware of the past, unintelligent in interpreting the present, and unprepared for the consequences of the future.

g. The powerful King was insignificant compared to God
Conclusion: Where do our hearts stand with God?

PRAY AND INVITE: The Rocky Railroad VBS will be June 5-9, 2023. If you want to help impact families for Christ in our community, start inviting children, and start praying! Look for a list of prayer needs in your mailbox.
