EQUIP Women’s Conference — EQUIP is an annual day conference which aims to gather and equip women around the Word of God. This year Equip will be looking at the book of Haggai, and the theme will be ‘God With Us.’ This is for Women from across all of our Gracepoint campuses! Please rego by the 28th of May at http://gracepoint.org.au/go/equip2023. More information inside the link.

Pastor Dinesh Taunk has been appointed as the full-time pastor of Melton Presbyterian Church in Melbourne, and will be leaving GracePoint to take on this role in July. We are thankful for his ministry at Granville and his commitment to subcontinental evangelism. A thanksgiving farewell lunch will be held on June 11th to express our appreciation.

Get ready for our Big Day Out! — On Sat 19 Aug we'll spend the morning at Wentworth Falls Presbyterian Church, enjoying Bible teaching by Rev Tim McIver of Blackheath Anglican Church. And the rest of the day we'll enjoy time together in the beautiful Blue Mountains
As we meet together each week, we recognise in the Call To Worship. God, through his word and Spirit, invites us into his presence and calls us into his life and mission.

Call to Worship
Praise the Lord!
For it is good to sing praises to our God;
For it is pleasant,
and a song of praise is fitting.
Psalm 147:1 (NIV11)
The songs of invitation orients us to God. It turns our attention to see God as the one that forgives sins, who has compassion on the weary and calls all who are humble in heart to come to Him. Singing has always been a biblical expression of praise, adoration and worship. It is not a ‘warm up’ act before the ‘main event’ of a service. Rather, it is a true expression of praise, thanksgiving, and treasuring of God.

Songs of Invitation

You Alone

Verse 1
You alone could light the heavens
Speak, and form the universe
Every grain and galaxy
Abiding by Your word
You alone deserve all glory
In one anthem, joyfully raised
Every language, every tongue
Resounding in Your praise

Chorus
Every nation needs to know
There's salvation in Your name alone
For Your kingdom we must go
To all of the earth, all of the earth

Verse 2
You alone could ransom sinners
No one else could pay such price
Give for love Your perfect life
In humble sacrifice
You alone have conquered darkness
Death no longer wields its sting
Raised in power to reign forever
Jesus, King of Kings

Verse 3
You alone restore the broken
Through the weak display Your power
Strengthen us to persevere
Equip us for this hour
Christ alone our ceaseless message
Grace and peace our overflow
Surely You are always with us
Jesus, we will go

Nothing But The Blood (Plainfield)

Verse 1
What can wash away my sin
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

Chorus
O precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow
No other fount I know
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

Verse 2
For my pardon this I see
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
For my cleansing this my plea
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

Verse 3
Nothing can for sin atone
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
Naught of good that I have done
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

Verse 4
This is all my hope and peace
Nothing but the blood of Jesus
This is all my righteousness
Nothing but the blood of Jesus

In Scripture, as people find themselves in God’s presence, they sense how far short they fall and become aware of their own guilt and shame. In the same way, we make a confession of sin, both as a community and also silently as individuals. In this, we remember that God is always ready, by his mercy and grace, to forgive us.

Confession Of Sin
Almighty God,
unto whom all hearts are open,
all desires known,
and from whom no secrets are hidden –
cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit,
so that we may perfectly love you,
and worthily magnify your holy name;
through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen!
Holy Scripture promises that ‘if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness’ (1 John 1:9)

Receiving of Grace
Because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
Ephesians 2:4-5 (NIV11)
Thanksgiving is a right and biblical response to God’s mercy and kindness. Gratitude springs forth from God’s grace.

Prayer of Thanksgiving
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:17-18 (NIV11)
Congregational Prayer is an opportunity for us as a church to pray with one voice. In prayer, we recognise our finitude and God’s sovereignty, and we confess our needs before our great God and King. God invites us to pray to him – to cast all of our burdens and anxieties upon him because he cares.

Congregational Prayer
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.
1 John 5:14 (NIV11)

All: Amen!
Catechisms teach us biblical and theological truths in the form of question and answer.

The New City Catechism Q.34
Q: Since we are redeemed by grace alone, through Christ alone, must we still do good works and obey God’s Word?

A: Yes, because Christ, having redeemed us by his blood, also renews us by his Spirit; so that our lives may show love and gratitude to God; so that we may be assured of our faith by the fruits; and so that by our godly behavior others may be won to Christ.

Romans 3:21-26 – Stephen Yau
Guided Reflection & Responding in Prayer
1. Spend a few moments right now reflecting on what we’ve just heard. Asking yourself: What is something that stood out to me?

2. Take a few moments to prayerfully reflect and write this down in a sentence or two.

3. Share what you've learnt with the people joining you online, and spend some time praying for each other.
After hearing the Word of God read and preached, it is appropriate for us to respond with praise and thanksgiving.

Songs of Response

The Lord’s Prayer is Jesus’ instruction to his disciples on how they ought to pray. Here, we discover what it is like to pray God-centred prayers. It teaches us that God is a personal and holy God (our Father…hallowed), he is coming back again (your kingdom come), he provides for all of our needs (daily bread…forgive us our sins…lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil), and that he is sovereign over all.

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours now and for ever.
Amen.
Benediction
To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.
Revelation 1:5-6 (NIV11)
