Over the next five weeks we will focus on what we believe as Christians and United Methodists. We will consider the tenants of our faith—those unchanging principles that give us stability and comfort. We will consider the hard-to-understand doctrines like the Holy Trinity, how we read scripture, and why the grace of Jesus is so important to us. When we have a firm foundation, the struggles of life become easier to bear. We will no longer be tossed about like those who are susceptible to false teaching, but will stand strong in our faith and the truth of Christ.

As we continue our series on "A Firm Foundation," we're diving deep into the doctrine and understanding of Jesus as the son of God. So, what do United Methodists believe about Jesus? We will focus our attention to the teaching and understanding of Jesus as one who is fully divine as well as fully human. We will also consider with what authority He preached in the first century. A deep understanding of the identity of Jesus should shape our faith and strengthen our belief in Him as our Lord and Savior.
