Heartland Community Church
Sunday Worship October 28, 2018
Grace is foundational to our faith, yet one of the hardest things to wrap our heads around. It’s free, but costly. It’s the only path to life, but means dying. It’s for those who aren’t perfect and those who think they are. It’s extended to everyone, but only accepted by a few. It’s amazing and the best news ever, but we make it messy. Join us as we take a deep dive into God’s grace and the mess we make of it the next four weeks as we remember that grace is for everyone, grace is always loving, grace is always true, and that grace is for you.

Online Giving

Everything we do at Heartland starts with you. Working together, we accomplish more than any of us could alone. We encourage people to give generously as God has given to them, knowing we can't outgive God! Prayer Requests
John Harris has dialysis for four hours, three afternoons a week. Praise that he seems to be doing well with it. Please pray that his counts continue to improve.

Carole Harris will start chemo on October 9th. Please pray that the treatments are effective and that she will have little to no side effects.

Mary Lee Winter is in Room 307 at Medicalodges (Cherry Village) if you would like to visit or send her a card or note. Please pray not only for her wellness and rehabilitation, but also for peace of mind for George.

Allen Ater has been ill for several weeks and the medications he has been taking have caused other health issues. He will see a cardio-logist and have a sonogram of his heart on October 1st to determine a course of action. Please pray for wisdom and wellness, and for Allen’s level of energy to be increased and restored.

Praise! Darren Beckwith, Keith & Oleta Beckwith’s son, will start a new job at CUNA (formerly CPI) tomorrow, September 24th. It has been one year since his illness with West Nile Virus struck. Praise that he will be able to receive all of the benefits he had when he previously worked there. Please pray that his hands will work well and do what he needs them to do for his job.

Jenni Wittig had her third round of chemo last Wednesday. Please pray that the side effects from the treatment and her other meds will be minimal. Pray for healing.

Alan Schneweis, Richard Schneweis’ brother, is home and is on hospice care. Because of the aggressive nature of the cancer, the best they can do now is keep him comfortable. He is experiencing a lot of abdominal pain. Their daughter is expecting their first grand-child in 2 ½ weeks, so they are praying that he will make it at least four more weeks so he can meet the baby.

Elsie Learned is still having pain from her shoulder replacement and is having trouble with her physical therapy. Please pray for the pain and discomfort to ease and for her to be able to tolerate her therapy.

Sermon Notes & Scripture
"Messy Grace: Grace is for You"
Pastor Matt Schaffner
Despite having been with Jesus, His disciples completely missed the point.
Monday is coming!
What happens Sunday is only as meaningful as what you do with it the rest of the week. This week dig into the truth of God's Word and see what grace is and freely offer it to everyone you possibly can- knowing that those "chance" meetings are God's nudging to share His great grace!
