We want to welcome you to our services this morning. We thank each of you for joining us, whether you are in person or watching on Facebook. It is an honor to have you with us. Will you join us in prayer as we worship our Lord in song, giving of our tithes and offerings, and in the preaching of God’s Word. As we embattle these times of uncertainty, we need the Lord more than ever and we need each other. The bond between brothers and sisters in Christ are one of the ways we can gain strength to get through these troubling days. That is why being a part of a church family and faithful attendance is so important in the life of the believer.
If you are not already attending our Sunday school, or Sunday evening and Wednesday services, I would highly recommend attending to achieve maximum growth and fellowship in the Lord.
We are starting a new series for Christmas titled, “The Heart of Christmas”. Our first sermon in the series is titled, “Hope is at the heart of Christmas”.
The true reason there is hope at the heart of Christmas is not because of gifts but because of the birth of Jesus Christ. His arrival on the earth was the fulfillment of a prophecy spoken hundreds of years before His birth. That prophecy is actually one of the most well-known scripture passages shared during this time of year and it’s where we begin our journey today as well.
Bro Matthew Thompson and his wife Sarah will be with us tonight to tell of their work and plans as they prepare to travel to the Islands of Indonesia to work with the people that have no Scripture in their own language. Please come and listen to Matthew and support him on this journey of fulfilling the Great Commission work to Bibleless people groups in Indonesia.
We will have our annual holiday dinner next Sunday evening starting at 5pm in the fellowship hall. The church is providing the meat, we just need all the fixings to go with the meal. This is a great time of fellowship with our church family, and we hope that you will come and join us.
The children will practice for the Christmas program right after church today here in the sanctuary. Please have your kids stay if they are a part of the Christmas program.
Choir practice tonight at 5pm. It is not too late to join the choir and be a part of the choir special for the Christmas program.
