The stories in the Book of Daniel come during a period of crisis for the nation of Israel. It was a time when Israel often felt like God had forgotten His people. Our story begins with the prophet Daniel who lived through the three deportments of the Jewish nation to Babylon and the final destruction of Jerusalem. Upon arriving in a new land, Daniel and his friends were chosen as the bright and best examples of Israeli youth to be trained and used by King Nebuchadnezzar and his court. Daniel and his friends were determined to not be swayed by all the turbulence and change in their lives and continue to serve and worship God. Over these three weeks we will discover stories of how to survive those seasons of life that shake our faith and threaten to undo us.

This is our final sermon in the series on Daniel and we'll consider the role of God when we are unjustly opposed. Sometimes people will conspire to hurt us or our reputation, simply for their own personal gain. Sometimes our righteous living leaves others uncomfortable and they desire to push us out. Where is God when life seems to be taking a dangerous turn? How are we supposed to respond outwardly when inwardly we are panicking? This is a story of the justice of God, which is greater than the laws of this world.
