I. Joy and peace comes from believing in Jesus- v. 13
II. Believing in Jesus requires us to do hard things- vv. 1-2, 7
• Carry the weaknesses of others by allowing for their stricter rules
• Accept those who have different convictions
III. Jesus is our example of doing hard things- vv. 3-4, 8-12
• Christ endured the cross for us
• Christ served both Jewish and non-Jewish people
IV. God is the source of strength you need to do the hard work of accepting others- vv. 5-6
