Discussion Questions - Re-read our main passage from this week (Nehemiah 4:1-23) and then with your Growth Group, family, friends, etc. thoughtfully answer the following:

1. What stands out to you about Nehemiah’s leadership in this passage?

2. How have you seen good leadership make all the difference in tough situations?

3. Why is it so hard to not defend ourselves and trust God to vindicate us? If you’ve done this, how did it go?

4. Would you rather work on projects alone or with a team of people? What’s the benefits of each?

5. Agree or disagree: Christianity is a team sport. Why?

6. Nehemiah encouraged the people by focusing on who God is and loving others. How is this different than the world’s methods of encouragement?

7. For people you have the opportunity to lead or influence, how specifically can you encourage them with God’s character or their love for others?

8. What specific Next Step do you want to take from this message?

Dr. Mark Scott (retired preaching professor and former academic dean of Ozark Christian College) walks through the book of Ezra, teaching about God’s people coming out of Babylonian captivity and going home to the land of Israel.
