As we meet together each week, we recognise in the Call To Worship.God, through his word and Spirit, invites us into his presence and calls us into his life and mission.

Call to Worship
I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing.”
Psalm 16:2 (NIV11)

Dear Heavenly Father, you are the source of all goodness, apart from you, we have no good thing. And you are so good to us that though we are undeserving, you have given us your Son as a perfect sacrifice for our sin.
May we proclaim faithfully your Lordship over us, as we sing praises of your goodness to all the earth.
We ask this in your Son’s name, Amen.
The songs of invitation orients us to God. It turns our attention to see God as the one that forgives sins, who has compassion on the weary and calls all who are humble in heart to come to Him. Singing has always been a biblical expression of praise, adoration and worship. It is not a ‘warm up’ act before the ‘main event’ of a service. Rather, it is a true expression of praise, thanksgiving, and treasuring of God.

In Scripture, as people find themselves in God’s presence, they sense how far short they fall and become aware of their own guilt and shame. In the same way, we make a confession of sin, both as a community and also silently as individuals. In this, we remember that God is always ready, by his mercy and grace, to forgive us.

Confession Of Sin

Almighty Father; we enter your presence confessing the things we try to conceal from you and the things we try to conceal from others. We confess the heartbreak, worry, and sorrow we have caused, that make it difficult for others to forgive us, the times we have made it easy for others to do wrong, the harm we have done that makes it hard for us to forgive ourselves. Lord have mercy and forgive us through Christ. Amen.
Holy Scripture promises that ‘if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness’
(1 John 1:9)

Receiving Of Grace
God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV11)
Thanksgiving is a right and biblical response to God’s mercy and kindness. Gratitude springs forth from God’s grace.

Prayer of Thanksgiving
Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15 (NIV11)
Congregational Prayer is an opportunity for us as a church to pray with one voice. In prayer, we recognise our finitude and God’s sovereignty, and we confess our needs before our great God and King. God invites us to pray to him – to cast all of our burdens and anxieties upon him because he cares.

Congregational Prayer
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15 (NIV11)
Catechisms teach us biblical and theological truths in the form of question and answer.

The New City Catechism Q.19
Q. Is there any way to escape punishment and be brought back into God’s favour?
A. Yes, to satisfy his justice, God himself, out of mere mercy, reconciles us to himself and delivers us from sin and from the punishment for sin, by a Redeemer.
Taking God for granted - may we not be like Israel who took God for granted, but repent of our sins and live for Him.

The Apostles Creed is a brief summary of the teachings of the apostles as contained in the gospels and the New Testament. So together with Christians since the first century and generations who have affirmed what we believe, we together affirm our faith as expressed in the apostle’s creed.

The Apostles Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty
Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son, our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried;
He descended to the dead;
On the third day he rose from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father;
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit;
the holy catholic [universal] Church;
the communion of saints;
the forgiveness of sins;
the resurrection of the body;
and the life everlasting. Amen
May the grace of our Lord be with you, now and always, may you stay blameless till He comes. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with all God’s people. Revelation 21:21-22 (NIV11)
