ROMANS: Pride and Mercy, Like Oil and Water

Experiencing the mercy of God should produce humility in our lives. We should not be prideful or boastful for anything in our lives that is a result of God’s mercy and grace. Pride is very dangerous, so much so that God provides one of the strongest warnings in the NT related to pride. Remember, warnings are given to help us avoid danger. God’s mercy, not only shows up in the kindness of His promises but also in the kindness of His warnings. Pay attention to the warning and don’t let pride lead to disregarding a warning from God. Don’t be arrogant but continue in the kind mercy of God through the humility of faith.
