You Are Blessed
Having the right attitude comes from accessing the blessed life of God, rather than being controlled by our circumstances or feelings. The attitudes of Jesus are accessed by His life in us, not by what happens around us.

Beatitude means Blessing.
Read Matthew 5:1-12
Three problems with the world’s definition of blessing.
1. The life of Jesus.
2. The teaching of Jesus.
3. The character of Jesus.

An incorrect understanding of God’s blessing can shipwreck our faith.

Summer Reading Challenge: Read the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5, 6 & 7)
“…Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” Genesis 1:22
“Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there He put the man He had formed.” Genesis 2:7-8
“The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” Genesis 2:15
The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Genesis 2:18

“Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib He had taken out of the man, and He brought her to the man.” Genesis 2:22
“So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them. God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 1:27- 28
“The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food…” Genesis 2:9a
“And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden.” Genesis 2:16

“Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth…Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.” Genesis 9:1, 3
“The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. “I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Genesis 12:1-3
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6
“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:31-33
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” John 3:16-17
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

Worship Through Giving

Giving back to God is a regular expression of worship, gratitude and praise.  See our giving options. Offering Prayer: God thank you for everything that you have provided to us. We give back to you as an expression of worship, gratitude, and praise for who you are. You are a good good father. Thank you that through this challenging time, we are assured that we do not need to worry, but trust that you will provide for our needs. Help us to be generous with what you have given, and lead us into opportunities to bless and serve others with the resources you have given to us. In Jesus' name. Amen
