Alexandria Covenant Church
Integrity Before God
Christians are to honor Christ with their motives, actions, and character. -------------- God can do amazing things through ordinary people who are empowered by the Holy Spirit. In the book of Acts, the Holy Spirit was given to all believers and the church was born. The church is God's chosen instrument in the world for sharing the good news about Jesus Christ. The book of Acts is all about the unhindered movement of God throughout the world as the gospel of Jesus Christ is proclaimed through the church. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, the early church was an unstoppable movement that proclaimed the Kingdom of God and Jesus Christ as the only way to eternal life. Today, the church empowered by the Holy Spirit is called to continue God's redeeming work in the world by fulfilling God's mission of making Jesus known to the ends of the earth.

Acts of the Apostles 5:1-11 NLT

1. Taking sin seriously is a must for every Christian.

2. Personal integrity affects the unity and witness of the church in the world.
Challenge: Sin is a big deal to God and it should be a big deal to us too. Our daily decisions and actions reveal our character and integrity to others. Regardless of whether or not others see our real motives behind our actions, God does and expects all believers to live with integrity. After all, we may be able to hide our motives from others, but God knows the intentions of our hearts and He will deal with us accordingly. Recognizing God’s standard for holiness and His hatred towards sin should cause us to gain a sense of reverence for God’s holiness and a desire to be holy as He is holy.
