Calvary BFC
We are privileged to choose who represents us in our government. Then we live with the choices that they make. When we choose poor representatives, we suffer. When we choose great representatives, we are blessed. Spiritually, we have a representative. Whether we like it or not, Adam represented us and he chose poorly. This is bad news for us. But the concept of a representative opens the door for some amazing news.

I. Adam’s representation makes me guilty for eating the forbidden fruit- vv. 12-14
II. Jesus’s superior representation absolves me of my guilt in Adam- vv. 15-19
5 contrasts between Adam and Jesus
Death in Adam, life in Christ
Earned Condemnation, gifted Justification
The reign of death or the reign of righteousness
One sinful act that condemns, one righteous act that justifies
We are made to be sinners in Adam, but made to be righteous in Jesus
III. Jesus’ superior representation absolves me of my guilt for my own sins- vv. 20-21
Bottom Line: We die because of Adam’s representation; we can live because of Jesus’ representation.
Questions To Consider
How can it be fair that Adam’s sin brings consequences to me? How is this truth actually the foundation for tremendous blessing?

How should Christ’s righteousness applied to my life cause me to live? What is my role in living out this righteousness?

What if I fail again? What is my hope? What is my assurance? What should I do next?
Melodic Line Of Romans
