1. The goodness of God defined

a. In His character (Psalm 119:68). “God is morally excellent, extraordinarily beautiful, deeply glad and extravagantly bountiful.” “God is the original definition of good. He is good in and of Himself. For us, goodness is an added quality Mark 10:18). But it comes naturally for Him. God is not just the greatest of beings; He is the Best.”

- God rescues those who are looking for soul satisfaction (Psalm 107:4-9)

- God rescues the rebels who turn to Him (Psalm 107:10-16)

- God helps fools who recognize and respond to Him (Psalm 107:17-22)

- God delivers those who suffer calamity (Psalm 107:23-32)

3. The goodness of God questioned (What to do when you question God’s goodness)

a. Understand you are not the only one (Psalm 4:6)

b. Challenge your perception (Jeremiah 17:9)

c. Remember your place (Psalm 115:3; 131:1-3)

e. Accept and cooperate with God’s purposes (Romans 8:28-30)
