The Crossing
There Must Be A Place... For Lost Causes
In this series we’ll explore a place to meet Jesus; a place like the sea of Galilee where Peter walked with Him on water, a place where He heals.

Something had happened to him. He had been changed. He had been made new. He had met someone who specializes in lost causes. He had met Jesus. And Jesus loves lost causes. Jesus specializes in lost causes.

There are going to be people here who have hurt you and wronged you. They might be the person you are praying leaves you alone while someone else is praying for them to be saved.

All the man wanted to do was stay with Jesus. That is the natural response to being changed by Jesus. You just want to stay with Him. It happens every year at camp with our kids and it happens after services at many of our locations. We just want to stay here. We want another song, another sermon or some more time with other Christians. What we don’t want to have to do is go out and live out our testimony among the people that have seen us at our worst. But Jesus tells him to go to the 10 cities. And he did. He did such a good job that when Jesus comes back to the region, 4,000 get fed.

There has to be a place for lost causes. There has to be a place for lost causes to be loved, and cared for until they come face to face with Jesus. There has to be a place that helps them turn their lives around and sends them out to share what God can do with a lost cause.
